Mr. Shenango: Cameron Sickafuse

By Avery Calvert and Ella Wittman

Funny, outgoing, and the life of the party–these are three words the friends of Cameron Sickafuse would use to describe him. As a devoted member of our community, Cameron will represent our school as a 2024 Mr. Shenango Candidate.

As a part of the tradition, each candidate is tasked with selecting a charity to support. Cameron’s choice is the Sarah Jane Foundation. “I’m supporting the Sarah Jane Foundation because it supports families locally. It really lets you get to see where the money is going, and I can give back to my community.”

The Sarah Jane Foundation is a non-profit organization that is targeted towards supporting individuals who struggle with brain injury or damage. It was launched in 2007 by Patrick Donohue, the father of Sarah Jane, who was determined to provide resources to others in similar circumstances.

Along with choosing a cause to fundraise for, Cameron also was tasked with choosing an escort. Aleigha Slagle, a member of the danceline and track team, will be walking alongside him as his escort. “I picked Aleigha as my escort because we’re friends, and she’s a cool person.”

Aleigha Slagle notes that Cameron brings several good characteristics to the table. “Cameron sticks out as a Wildcat with the unique characteristics he shows every day. He is an intelligent human who is always kind, a funny person who will make you laugh.”

After graduation, he plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh to study finance.
