Class of 2023 Top 10: Scarlet Balogh

by Kassidy Cutchall

Whether she’s twirling on the football field during halftime or engaging in a discussion in one of her advanced placement courses, Scarlet Balogh has proven herself a leader. All of her hard work has truly paid off as she rightfully obtained her spot in the senior class’s top 10.

As Scarlet prepares for the next step in her life, she is planning to attend West Virginia University to major in forensic science. Her exceptional work ethic helped her throughout her entire career at Shenango.

Scarlet does not just credit her work ethic, but she also gives thanks to her teachers for readying her for the challenging years ahead. “The science teachers have prepared me well for my future goals,” Scarlet admired. “They have kept me motivated throughout my years.”

For Scarlet, one of the vital life lessons she has learned throughout her high school years is that “it is important to always try even when something seems impossible.” She advises underclassmen to “take school seriously” as they strive for their goals.

Scarlet’s academic achievements are just as important as her memories of activities in school, and Scarlet takes with her a vast amount of moments she cherishes, whether it was weeks of band camp or lunches in the band room with her friends.

Scarlet is being accompanied by Miss Schuster for the Top Ten dinner. She chose Miss Schuster because of the impact her class made on her.

Best wishes, Scarlet!
