Student of the Second Nine Weeks: Jason Frampton

by Jadyn Barker and Suchi Patel

The moment when teachers nominate students to appreciate their success has arrived! The Student of the Nine Weeks award highlights the academic accomplishments and the friendly behavior of Shenango students. Junior Jason Frampton has been awarded this honor for the second nine weeks.
Jason values his education, noting that, “I am motivated to work hard to get good grades,” noting that his work ethic is his strongest attribute.

His performance is observed by his chemistry teacher, Mr. Vecenie, who remarks, “Jason is a hard-working, pleasant student to have in class,” he said. “He is extremely polite and thoughtful.”

“Jason has worked diligently this year to earn honor roll status for the first semester. He always comes to class prepared and completes all assignments.  He is kind and inquisitive,” adds Mrs. Rudesill.

Jason’s passion for the arts has led him to look up to one very special person. Canadian writer and American television producer Tim Burns is Jason’s role model. He admires Tim because “I love how he makes his films.”

Jason is an active member of the Shenango Art Club led by Mr. Naelitz. “It is my favorite class because I love to draw,” exclaims Jason. He is an excellent student as he balances his time between extracurricular activities and school work by “completing all [his] homework at school.”

Art teacher Mr. Naelitz sees the extraordinary in Jason.  “Sometimes it’s easy to overlook the great qualities of people around us. Have you ever met someone who seems unamusing or shy, but has a ton of ability? Where Jason is concerned, you would be wrong to assume that he isn’t powerful because of his quiet and modest demeanor. Jason routinely amazes us with his artistic skill and mighty imagination – a nice guy too, to top it all off,” Naelitz praises.

Jason anticipates that many of his classmates and teachers may not be aware that along with pursuing the arts, “[he] collects [a variety] of comics.”

Jason is a very driven student at Shenango and one of his many goals this year include “wanting to write at least one book.” Inspired by his surroundings and his role model, Jason will definitely accomplish his future goal.

Congratulations, Jason!
