Freshman Wildcat of the Third Nine Weeks: Jacob Bupp

by Braeden D’Angelo and Morgan Pisula

The time of the year has come when Shenango High School teachers nominate amazing students who showcase qualities that demonstrate high academic skills and strong character and integrity. Jacob Bupp received this honor for the freshman class for the third nine weeks.

“Look up the definition of ‘student’…you will find Jacob Bupp!” Mrs.Rudesill notes. “He has maintained an ‘A’ average while participating in sports and extracurriculars. He is a very conscientious student who strives to do his best in all he does.”

Other teachers observed Jacob’s evident traits to make him deserving of this honor.

“Jacob is one of the kindest and most caring students I have had. He always brings great insight into conversations, but his empathy for others is what I find such an amazing character trait,” social studies teacher Mrs.Merryman states.

His computer applications teacher, Mrs.Whiting, agrees with both Mrs. Rudesill and Mrs. Merryman.  “Jacob is a very hardworking and responsible student with great character.”

Jacob exemplifies these qualities throughout his school day, both inside and outside of the classroom. . His favorite class is English because Mrs.Rudesill makes him “feel welcome and explains things well.”

While Jacob has many classes to balance, he also participates in multiple extracurricular activities. Jacob is involved in chamber choir, outdoor track, and cross country. He balances these by “giving each activity equal practice time.”

Jacob has people in front of him that have led the way and helped shape him into the person he is today. His role models are his siblings because “they have been very successful.”

Congratulations, Jacob!
