7th Grade Student of the Nine Weeks: Anna McKinley

by Braeden D’Angelo and Morgan Pisula

Seventh grade teachers and staff have nominated Anna Mckinley as the student of the nine weeks.

Anna’s teachers play an important role in her time at Shenango, and she notes that she thinks a good teacher is one that “lets you know when you have missing assignments and who is always trying to help you to be better.”

Earning good grades, managing her time, and putting her best effort into every task are all important to Anna, especially because even though she is only in 7th grade, she has her future in mind.  She notes that what motivates her to work hard and study in school is “college and my future.”

Anna’s teachers recognized her mature mindset.  Science teacher Mr.Flood stated, ”Anna is a student that has a fantastic work ethic, constantly striving to do better and continually puts forth the effort to be successful. She is kind, responsible, and willing to help others whenever needed. She is a leader in the classroom in both performance and participation.”

School counselor Mrs.O has been impressed with how, as a student new to Shenango, she has acclimated quickly. “She is a new student to Shenango High School this year. She has all high A’s, and she is a very kind and polite young lady.”

Mrs. Whiting, computer applications teacher, notes that Anna “comes in with a smile and gets to work. She is a good student that cares about her grades.”

Anna notes that while her studies are her priority, she also does many activities outside of school, including softball and track.  While softball is a big part of Anna’s life, her role model is a member of that sport. Her role model is Mackenzie Donahue “because she is really good at softball and gets good grades.”

Congratulations, Anna!
