Senior Student of the Nine Weeks: Kassidy Cutchall

By Jadyn Barker, Madi Iwanejko, and Natalie McClean

Kassidy Cutchall has been chosen as the senior student of the nine weeks by the Shenango teachers and staff. This accomplishment showcases Kassidy’s unwavering commitment and motivation to her studies as well as her commitment to helping others.

Kassidy is captain of the varsity cheer team, which comes with a lot of responsibilities, like organizing stunts, facilitating practices, teaching chants, and most importantly, being the second set of eyes for her coach.

This type of leadership is something Mrs. Allen witnesses in Kassidy, who is a second-year member of the yearbook staff.  “Kassidy is a go-getter.  No matter what task she is assigned, she gets it done.  She was an awesome facilitator of the senior superlative photo shoot!”

Kassidy’s favorite class this year is Social Studies. Mr. Othites, teacher of the senior Social Studies class, holds a high opinion of Kassidy. “Kassidy comes into my class every day with a big smile, a great sense of humor, and a positive disposition. She is one of my favorites!!!”

For Advanced Literature and Research teacher Mr. Mayo, Kassidy’s writing abilities stand out to him.  “Kassidy has shown great potential during the first nine weeks. She is just beginning to realize that she has a real talent for writing.”

Another advanced course Kassidy takes as a senior is Spanish IV.  “She is one of only eleven students,” Mr. Mularski notes.  “She has a natural ability for language, but she also cares about her studies.”

Kassidy’s motivation as a student is conveyed through her passion for achieving good grades. She considers one of her strongest traits to be how she gets along with her teachers and how she “knows that I can go to them and ask if I need help.” Kassidy’s motivation also comes from her father, her role model. “He’s very hard working and he’s always there for us no matter what.  Even if it’s been a 12-hour shift, he will always go above and beyond for my brother and me.”
